Improved technology, surgical techniques and advanced in pain management have enabled Atlantic General Hospital to perform many surgeries on an outpatient basis, with a full staff of board-certified anesthesiologists, which means you will be in and out of the hospital within 24 hours.
Various general, gynecology and orthopedic surgeries can now be performed using laparoscopy, where a tubular endoscope is inserted through a much smaller incision than one in traditional surgical procedures. This requires less time in the hospital and a significantly shorter recovery time.
