Atlantic General Hospital Greets the Public at Women's Diagnostic Center Open House

Berlin, Md. - Atlantic General Hospital held an open house on November 17, 2005 to introduce the Women’s Diagnostic Center to the public and thank the community for its support in making the center a reality. The center’s staff offered tours and refreshments to those who attended, and the event was commemorated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in conjunction with ambassadors from the Bethany-Fenwick, Ocean Pines and Ocean City chambers of commerce.

About the Women’s Diagnostic Center
Atlantic General Hospital’s new 2,000 square foot facility provides diagnostic services that span the entire spectrum of women’s health in a setting that is designed for comfort and privacy. The center, which offers mammograms, ImageChecker computer-aided breast cancer detection (CAD), non-invasive Stereotactic breast biopsies, and bone density measurements, can accommodate same-day appointments.

“We’ve brought new equipment on board which allows us to see patients on the same day their doctor recommends an exam,” said Imaging Director Bob Abbott. “That’s a big advantage for Worcester County women, who no longer have to wait for their diagnosis.”
