Free Flu Clinic Scheduled for Monday, January 16, 2006

Atlantic General Hospital announced that it has received an additional shipment of flu vaccine and will be holding a free flu clinic on Monday, January 16, 2006. The clinic will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Pocomoke Imaging Center in Pocomoke City, Md.

Flu season runs through March, and community members who have not yet received a flu vaccine are encouraged to go to the clinic. “The risk of infection has not yet passed,” said Michaelann Frate, AGH Employee Health and Infection Control Coordinator. “So, please come to the clinic to get your flu shot.”

Only a few cases of influenza have been seen this winter, according to Frate, but the flu activity has been irregular, beginning on the west coast and spreading toward the east.
