Physician Addresses Liver Disease on Delmarva at 2006 Health Conference

Liver disease is a major cause of death in the United States and is responsible for more loss of life than such common cancers as breast, colon or prostate. It is an exceptionally important health issue in the tri-county area of Worcester, Wicomico and Somerset, where alcoholism occurs at a greater rate than the national average.

The 2006 Visions for Total Health Conference will address liver disease with a breakout session conducted by Lee Klepper, MD, of Atlantic Gastroenterology. Depending on when alcoholism and liver disease is diagnosed, sufferers can slow down or even stop the harmful effects to their bodies.

The 2006 Visions for Total Health Conference will take place on Saturday, August 26, 2006 at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center in Ocean City. Thirteen speakers, including nationally known journalist and physician Dr. Bob Arnot who will give the keynote address on “Being Your Personal Best,” will give presentations on topics related to traditional medicine, alternative healthcare, and environmental health.
