Worcester Health Fair Scheduled for February

Atlantic General Hospital, in cooperation with it local coalition partners, will hold the Worcester Health Fair at the Snow Hill Fire Hall on Saturday, February 11, 2006.

The health fair, to be held from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., will provide free education and screenings to the community including oral cancer screenings; cholesterol and glucose screenings; prostate cancer screenings; blood pressure, pulse-ox, and respiratory function monitoring; and body fat indexing.

Education topics include cancer prevention, cardiac rehabilitation fitness, circuit training, yoga, and volunteerism in the health community.

Mimi Dean, M.S., will present an education session on chair aerobics from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Andrea Mathias, M.D., M.P.H, of Atlantic General Health System’s Family Practice in Snow Hill, will give a presentation from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on “Prevention and Early Detection Issues.”

Brunch will be provided by Atlantic General Hospital. These programs are offered through Atlantic General Hospital, Healthy U, University of Maryland School of Nursing/Governor’s Wellmobile, the University of Maryland Statewide Network, and the Worcester County Health Department.
