Pain Center Treatments
Pain Management in Berlin, MD
It happens to too many people: Whether caused by an injury or an infection, chronic pain can affect their overall well-being – leading to a diminished quality of life.
At Atlantic General Pain Center, led by Dr. Wadid Zaky, we are committed to helping patients find relief from their discomfort. Our program is designed to provide comprehensive pain relief through medical procedures and therapies. We do not merely want to manage and control your pain, but ultimately to relieve it and improve your quality of life.
We also offer a 7-day chronic pain rehabilitation program, as a complement to the medical interventions Dr. Zaky performs.
Diagnostic & Therapeutic Procedures
We offer a comprehensive set of specialized services and therapies to treat many conditions related to chronic pain – conditions like:
- Neuropathy and peripheral nerve damage from diabetes
- Degenerative disc disease
- Reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD)
- Neck pain and back pain, including work-related injuries
- Persistent pain after neck or back surgery
Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services we provide include:
- Advanced Neuromodulation – Using electrical impulses at certain points in the neck and spine, neuromodulation alters nerve activity to treat pain very effectively. (These include DRG, HF10, DCS and sacral therapies.)
- High-frequency modulation – We’re the only program on Maryland’s Eastern Shore offering this form of therapy. With high-frequency modulation, patients cannot detect the stimulation, and this form of therapy can relieve pain for many individuals when lower frequency therapy has proven ineffective.
- Nerve blocks – Including epidurals as well as ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks.
- Intradiscal electrothermal annuloplasty (IDET) – Using heat to treat pain.
- Inter-articular injections and injections at pain points.
-
Implants – Key implant services provided by Atlantic General Pain Center include:
- Spinal cord stimulators
- Pain pumps for intra-spinal drug delivery
