The Burbage Regional Cancer Care Center offers a multi-specialty breast clinic for our patients undergoing treatment for breast cancer. When you receive a breast cancer diagnosis, you’re fighting fear in addition to the disease. Our highly experienced cancer specialists meet with each patient as a group to answer questions and discuss treatment plans to expedite care. That means less waiting, less worrying.

If you have been diagnosed with breast cancer, you can meet with our breast surgeon, medical oncologists, and radiation oncologist during your appointment -- from your initial consultation all the way through the treatment process. Just call us at (410) 641-9568.

Alae Zarif, MD
Breast Surgery

Dr. Zarif performs breast oncology surgery, in coordination with plastic surgeon Vincent Perrotta, MD, for reconstruction, as appropriate.

Alae Zarif, M.D., performs surgeries at Atlantic General Hospital and offers patient consultations and minor procedures at Atlantic General Surgical Associates, in Berlin, MD. Dr. Zarif has been in practice since 1996 when he finished his residency at Waterbury Hospital, a Yale-affiliated surgical training program in Connecticut. He has received designation as one of the Top 100 surgeons in the U.S. for laparoscopic gallbladder removal, from Dexur, and is a multi-year winner of Coastal Style magazine’s Best Of readers’ choice award for general surgery. Dr. Zarif is certified by the American Board of Surgery and performs multiple advanced laparoscopic procedures as well as breast and oncologic surgeries and vascular access procedures. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and holds membership in the American Society of Breast Surgeons.

Manoj Jain, MD
Radiation Oncology

Dr. Jain provides radiation oncology treatment in coordination with medical and surgical oncology care for certain breast cancers.

Dr. Jain is a board-certified radiation oncologist with more than fifteen years of experience practicing
radiation oncology on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. He received his medical degree from New
York Medical College in Valhalla, NY and completed his specialty training in radiation oncology at
Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. He has worked extensively with the Man-to-Man prostate cancer
support group and breast cancer support groups to promote the most advanced forms of treatment
for these cancers. His commitment to using the latest scientific data to treat cancer patients has
led to the organization of a multi-disciplinary cancer conference at Atlantic General Hospital, where
he also serves as the chair of the Cancer Review Committee.

Rabindra Paul, MD
Medical Oncology

Dr. Paul provides chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other medical oncology services as needed in coordination with lumpectomy or mastectomy procedures.

Dr. Paul brings a wealth of training and experience to his role as head of the Burbage Regional Cancer
Care Center. His training includes fellowships in hematology and medical oncology at Howard
University Hospital in Washington, DC, and in infectious diseases at Kansas University Medical
Center in Kansas City, KS. He has specialized in breast, GU, GI and hematologic malignancies as
well as treatment of infections in oncology patients. Dr. Paul is a member of the American Society of
Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, the Infectious Diseases Society of America
and the American College of Physicians. He is board-certified in medical oncology and hematology,
infectious diseases and internal medicine.
