Bereavement and Family Support Services
Grief is one of life’s most poignant moments. It is a unique journey for each of us, yet all grief shares some common themes -- the hurt, the loss of identity, the disbelief, the physical, emotional and spiritual symptoms, as well as the time it takes to heal. Bereavement Support Services offers reassurances that you are not alone...
It is important to find persons who are compassionate and who will walk
with you through your grief journey. Your support system should include
people who let you grieve in your own way – and help you acknowledge
your own feelings.
Yes, life has changed. But it is important to know you can survive. You
can become whole again – perhaps in ways never expected -- yet always
remember the one you loved.
Because grief can be so painful, people often wonder if what they are feeling
and thinking is normal. This process can feel overwhelming and can create
fear unless we know what to expect. You are invited to bereavement support
sessions being offered through Pastoral Care Services at Atlantic General
Hospital. These sessions are intended to be supportive and educational
for all who have lost a loved one. They provide a supportive atmosphere
where you can meet others who share in your loss, as well as find ways to cope.
