Jonathan Bell, M.D.
Gastroenterologist Jonathan Bell, MD, joined the medical staff of Atlantic General Health System in 2018. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Gastroenterology, Dr. Bell is a member of the American Gastrointestinal Association, the American College of Gastroenterology and the American College of Physicians. He earned his medical degree at Temple University in Philadelphia, and completed fellowship training at the University of Maryland’s School of Medicine in Baltimore. In addition to consultations at Atlantic General Gastroenterology, Dr. Bell provides procedures at the Atlantic General Endoscopy and Urology Center and Atlantic General Hospital.

Lee Klepper, M.D.
Dr. Lee Klepper, a board certified gastroenterologist who has served the communities of the lower Eastern Shore for more than 10 years, joined the medical staff of Atlantic General Health System in 2018. Following graduation from Sackler School of Medicine, Dr. Klepper completed his residency at the University of Buffalo and then completed a fellowship training program in gastroenterology at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Klepper is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Medical Association. He has been a guest speaker for the American Cancer Society and frequently lectures on colon cancer screening. In addition to consultations at Atlantic General Gastroenterology, Dr. Klepper performs procedures at Atlantic General Endoscopy and Urology Center and at Atlantic General Hospital.

Scott Itzkowitz, D.O.
Gastroenterologist Scott Itzkowitz, D.O, FACP, FACG, FASGE, joined Atlantic General Health System in early 2024 to provide care at Atlantic General Gastroenterology in Ocean Pines, MD. Dr. Itzkowitz comes to us most recently from North Carolina, where he provided care in both the hospital and community setting after retiring as a Captain in the Medical Corps from the United States Navy.
Dr. Itzkowitz graduated from Tulane University and then received his medical education at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, CA. His three-year Gastroenterology fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles Center for Health Sciences was followed by an extensive military career, most notably with posts as Chief of Gastroenterology at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Medical Director of Healthcare Operations Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and Gastroenterology Department Head at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune.
Dr. Itzkowitz is Board Certified in Gastroenterology, and is a Fellow of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.

Sharon Weber, PA-C
Sharon Weber, PA-C, joined Atlantic General Health System in July 2019 to provide urology care to the community. Sharon has a background in education, having taught chemistry, biology and other sciences at both the high school and collegiate level for more than eight years. She earned her undergraduate degree from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA, with a double major in chemistry and education, and a master’s degree in education from Gratz College, in Melrose Park, PA. In 2015, Sharon returned to the classroom as a student to become a physician assistant, graduating with a master of medical science, with honors, from Arcadia University in Glenside, PA. She moved to the Eastern Shore in June of 2018.
Gena Nance, CRNP
Gena Nance, CRNP, joined Atlantic General Health System in 2019 to provide gastroenterology care to the Berlin community. Gena has ties to the Lower Shore and received her bachelor's and master's degrees at Salisbury University. After graduating with her master's degree in family nurse practitioner studies, Gena worked in primary care and transitioned to the gastroenterology specialty in 2017. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Nurse Practitioner Association of Maryland.
