Atlantic General Hospital Appoints New Board Officers at Annual Meeting

Berlin, Md. - As part of its annual meeting, Atlantic General Hospital Corporation appointed four new officers to the Board of Directors.
Chairman
Thomas K. Coates, Esq., of Berlin, the new chairman, practices law with
his father, two brothers, wife and sister-in-law at Coates, Coates &
Coates, P.A., in Berlin. A member of the Worcester County Bar Association
and the Maryland State Bar Association, he is also a certified public
accountant who earned his CPA license while attending law school. Coates
is a graduate of Mercersburg Academy in Mercersburg, Pa., Washington and
Lee University in Lexington, Va., and the University of Baltimore School
of Law who originally joined the Atlantic General Hospital Board of Directors
at the urging of a close friend. "Adam Showell was on the AGH Board
of Directors and approached me about joining," he says. "Having
grown up in the area, I realize how important the hospital is to our community.
I want Atlantic General Hospital to continue to grow and serve the needs
of our community." Coates and his wife, Cathi, have two sons, Christian
and C. Austin.
Vice Chairman
Colleen “Cam” Bunting, also of Berlin, is an accomplished
area Realtor and owner of Bunting Realty, Inc. Named to the Top 5% of
all Realtors in the Coastal Association of Realtors, she is a real estate
broker, a certified residential specialist and an accredited buyer's
representative. She is a board member of the Coastal Association of Realtors
and Coastal Hospice, and a member of the National Association of Realtors,
the Maryland Association of Realtors, the Women's Council of Realtors,
and the Eastern Shore Builders Association. A graduate of James M. Bennett
High School in Salisbury and the University of Maryland at College Park,
she was hired by Paramount to work on the film Runaway Bride. "Ever
since I was in high school, I wanted to do community service," Bunting
said. "Having a hospital in this community is important, especially
for our aging population. Travel is difficult for the aged, and we have
a strong group of doctors to fulfill their needs." Bunting and her
husband, Layton E. "Woody" Bunting, have three adult children,
Chris, Shawn and Jennifer.
Treasurer
Winn Booth is the president of PKS Investment Advisors LLC, an affiliate
of Pigg, Krahl, Stern & Co., a certified public accounting firm. Winn
is also involved in other community and civic affairs, serving as the
treasurer for the Ocean City Parrot Head Club and for the Ocean City/Berlin
Optimist Youth Foundation. His involvement with Atlantic General Hospital
also includes chairing the Planned Giving Committee of the AGH Foundation
Board and serving on the Finance and Investment Committees of the Board
of Directors. Winn resides in Ocean Pines with his wife Janet.
Secretary
Shirley Pilchard, a former delegate for the state of Maryland, has been
involved in several nonprofit organizations including Furnace Town and
the Julia Purnell Museum, and has held positions on various committees
including the Worcester County Economic Development Advisory Board and
the US13 Tourism Advisory Board. Pilchard is retired and has two adult
