specialized medicine
The new James G. Barrett Medical Office Building, located on Atlantic General Hospital’s campus at the entrance of Healthway Drive in Berlin, will be the site of a grand opening event on Friday, April 11, 5 to 8 p.m.
The date coincides with the kickoff of the hospital’s celebration of their 15th anniversary that will culminate in a formal gala on May 15. The grand opening will be a dual affair, with a ribbon cutting ceremony and building dedication in honor of the late James G. Barrett, followed by an anniversary celebration with tours of the facilities and free health screenings, children’s activities and refreshments courtesy of Panera Bread.
The screenings and outreach will include foot checks, carpal tunnel screenings, breast cancer education, diabetes risk assessments, and blood pressure checks. The Worcester County American Cancer Society will also hold pre-registration for the Relay for Life.
Coastal Drug Center’s Coffee Beanery will be offering a 20 percent discount on all beverages in recognition of the occasion.
Currently, the Barrett Medical Office Building houses the new Atlantic General Hospital Wound Care Center and an office for the Diabetes Outpatient Education Program, the Atlantic Endoscopy Center, AGHS Surgical and the growing Women’s Health Center. Also found there are the Coastal Drug Center and Coffee Beanery, Chesapeake Eye Center, and Neurological Associates.
All visitors are welcome. For more information about the grand opening, please visit www.atlanticgeneral.org.
