Atlantic Endoscopy Center Nurse Honored as Finalist in National Contest

Terry Moore, registered nurse and clinical leader of Atlantic General Hospital’s
Endoscopy Center, is passionate about health care. She loves her job,
and it shows.
She always has a kind word for patients and co-workers. And a smile, even if it’s a weary one, seldom leaves her face.
Unbeknownst to Terry, her team at the Endoscopy Center, as well as center physicians Jonathan Bell, Lee Klepper and Jerrold Canakis, extolled her dedication on a nomination form for EndoNurse Magazine’s 2nd Annual Most Valuable Professionals in Endoscopy Award.
The magazine, which reaches 13,000 gastroenterology nurses and technicians nationwide, recently informed Terry that she made their 2009 MVP List. The list will be published in the May issue of the magazine and posted on their web site.
Readers of EndoNurse will have the opportunity to vote for the ultimate MVP beginning May 18, with the final winners to be announced this summer.
“It was truly a surprise and an honor to be nominated,” said Moore. “This nomination reflects everyone working at the Atlantic Endoscopy Center. A manager is only as good as the employees working for her and I truly do have the best team around!”

The Atlantic Endoscopy Center, located within the Barrett Medical Office Building on Atlantic General Hospital’s campus in Berlin, Md., celebrated its first anniversary in March. The center offers a quiet, private atmosphere away from the busy hustle and bustle of the hospital environment.
With private rooms and a dedicated staff who provide care only for those patients who come to the Endoscopy Center, the atmosphere is designed to alleviate much of the apprehension and embarrassment typical to many GI procedures.
