Hear stories from real women and learn how to prevent heart disease
(Salisbury, Md.) - Though heart disease is still the No. 1 killer of women, increased awareness and education can prevent thousands more women from dying each year. Come learn how to prevent heart disease at the annual Tri-county Go Red for Women Event on Saturday, January 31 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
“Conversations from the Heart” will offer real life stories from local women; educate women how to take action to reduce their personal risk; and offer ideas to share their own story with others.
There will be health screenings, vendors displaying heart healthy lifestyle information, continental breakfast and door prizes. The first 150 participants will receive a goody bag filled with products and information.
The event is co-sponsored by Atlantic General Hospital, The Guerrieri Heart & Vascular Institute at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Mid-Shore Family YMCA, Salisbury University, Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester Health Departments, and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore – TCRC.
