AGH Wound Care Center Receives Top Honors

One of the Shore’s wound centers received national distinction on
Tuesday. The staff of Atlantic General Hospital’s Wound Care Center
accepted their fourth consecutive Robert A. Warriner III, MD, Center of
Excellence Award; the center is one of only nine in the entire country
to be a four-time winner.
“Our staff works very hard to provide the best possible care to our patients, employing best practices and truly working together as a team,” said Geri Rosol, program director of the AGH Wound Care Center. “We’re honored to have received this award.”
The award is bestowed by Healogics®, the world’s largest wound care management company. The AGH Wound Care Center is a member of the Healogics Clinical Network of more than 500 centers nationwide, with access to benchmarking data and experience of treating more than two million chronic wounds.
2012 Robert A. Warriner III, MD Center of Excellence Award
The Center of Excellence Award is bestowed to centers that meet or exceed benchmarks for two consecutive years. Fewer than five percent of Healogics’ centers received this award. The AGH Wound Care Center is the only center in Maryland and one of 22 nationwide.

Patient Satisfaction: >/= 92% 96%
Healing Rate: >/= 91% 96%
Median Days to Heal: </= 30 days 27 days
At the Wound Care Center, more than 2000 patients to date have been provided specialized treatment, often preventing amputations and helping patients return to active lives.
