Healthy Living with Diabetes Workshop 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Indian River Senior Center, Millsboro, De.
This free workshop is designed to help those affected by diabetes better
manage their disease. It helps participants cope with challenges and lifestyle
changes imposed by diabetes. Some of the activities covered in this workshop
will be – healthy eating, ways to prevent low blood sugar/hypoglycemia,
preventing or delaying complications, physical activity and exercise,
reading nutrition labels, foot care and more. For more information and

Our group is a 12 step program, adapted from Alcoholics Anonymous. We
help anyone struggling with a compulsive eating problem, whether it is
weight gain, bulimia, anorexia, or if you are a parent of a child with
one of these problems. We will be meeting each Sunday in Conference Room
1 at Atlantic General Hospital. There is no initial meeting charge. Meeting

Atlantic General Hospital Sleep Disorders Diagnostic Center
Atlantic General Hospital’s Sleep Disorders Diagnostic Center hosts
a monthly mask fitting clinic for patients who are having trouble adjusting
to their CPAP equipment. This is a completely FREE service, but requires
the patient to call ahead to set up an appointment. To make an appointment,

Stepping On is a well-researched falls prevention program. The prevention
of falls is vital to maintaining personal independence. Older people understand
that the threat of a fall can be a barrier to safely doing all the things
they want to do at home and in their community. The Stepping On workshop
is FREE and meets for two hours a week for seven weeks (March 10 –
April 21).

Stroke Support Group 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Atlantic Health Center
A stroke support group that provides a community based environment for
stroke victims/survivors and caregivers on a monthly basis. We will provide
physical and emotional support in a social setting for survivors and caregivers
to share their personal experiences and challenges. Coping strategies
will also be discussed during these interactions. We encourage utilization
of resources available in our surrounding area to facilitate the greatest
quality of life possible for our survivors. We will have key speakers
who have expert knowledge concerning areas of concern for those affected
by a stroke.
