Berlin, Md. – Atlantic General Hospital invites the community to come out for Walk with a Doc with Atlantic General Women’s Health provider Brandi Musselman, M.D., at the South Gate Pond in Ocean Pines on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 9:00 a.m.
According to the American Heart Association, walking has the lowest dropout rate of any physical activity. Walking is low impact; easier on the joints than running. It is safe – with a doctor’s okay – for people with orthopedic ailments, heart conditions, and those who are more than twenty percent overweight. In addition, research has shown that you could gain two hours of life for each hour of regular exercise.
Walk with a Doc is a walking program for everyone interested in taking steps for a healthier lifestyle. “We are thrilled to bring this program to the community and provide yet another healthy outlet to advance their health and wellness. While walking, community members will have the opportunity to have questions answered by local physicians from Atlantic General Hospital and Health System,” said Angela Simmons CRNP, CBN at Atlantic General Bariatric Center.
