Online Caregiver Support Group

An informal gathering of people whose lives are directly or indirectly affected by the caregiving needs of another. The group provides peer acceptance and recognition for common concerns and is a wonderful opportunity to share in the wisdom, insight and humor of fellow caregivers. Atlantic General Hospital’s Sleep Disorders Diagnostic Center hosts a mask fitting clinic for patients who are having trouble adjusting to their CPAP equipment. This is a completely FREE service, but requires the patient to call ahead to set up an appointment. To schedule, contact Robin Rohlfing at 410-641-9726.

Hope in Bloom Breast Health Virtual Conference 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Atlantic General Hospital in partnership with Susan G. Komen Maryland, Sussex and Kent Counties in Delaware will be hosting “Hope in Bloom” via video call (Zoom). This event is free to the community. The two-hour “Hope in Bloom” event will address early detection, treatment and survivorship with area experts. Manoj Jain, M.D., Radiation Oncologist from Atlantic General Hospital’s Burbage Regional Cancer Care Center, will be presenting on the latest in breast cancer treatment. Our keynote speaker will be Dawn Denton, R.N., who will share her experience of hope, health, and survivorship. Also speaking will be Katie Busacca, licensed and registered dietitian at Atlantic General and the Regional Cancer Care Center, who will discuss breast health and nutrition. NEW! Building Better Caregivers - Free 6-week workshop - Valuable training for caregivers experiencing behavior issues by their care partner or they are experiencing high levels of stress - caregivers of those with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), dementia such as Alzheimer’s, and any other conditions that affect memory. Classes are highly participatory, where mutual support and success build the participants’ confidence in their ability to manage their caregiving tasks and maintain a fulfilling life.
Living Healthy with Hypertension For people with high blood pressure who want to learn how to better manage the condition. This is a free 1-time 2 ½ hour workshop.

This free 6 week interactive workshop will help you manage things like fatigue, frustrations, medication management and depression that often accompany living with a chronic condition.
Living Well with Diabetes Workshop Free 6 week workshop to learn how to deal with the symptoms of diabetes such as fatigue, pain, high and low blood sugar, stress and emotional issues such as depression, anger, fear and frustration.
Stepping on Falls Prevention Workshop This is a free 7-week interactive program proven to improve the participant’s risk of falls. It includes balance and strength exercises as well as strategies to reduce fall risks in the home and when out in the community.
