Atlantic General Hospital Foundation Plans 28th Anniversary Celebration

“The Party To Which You Give But Don’t Go”

Berlin, Md. – Atlantic General Hospital Foundation is planning a modified version of its Anniversary Celebration due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The annual celebration is the local hospital’s largest fundraising event of the year, which commemorates their opening in 1993.

“As we continue to prioritize the health and safety of our community, we have reimagined the 28^th Anniversary Celebration as ‘The Party to Which You Give, but Don’t Go,’ and your support of this year’s fundraiser is more important than ever,” said Michael Franklin, president and CEO of Atlantic General Hospital.

“Health care organizations were hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, and our local hospital is no exception. Throughout the pandemic, it has become increasingly evident that supporting our healthcare workers and ensuring the future of quality healthcare at Atlantic General Hospital is so critical for our community,” he said.

In lieu of an in-person event, the fundraiser will rely on sponsorships, donations from its invitees, and proceeds from an online auction. The elimination of the overhead expenses of a traditional in-person party will allow all funds raised to go directly to support Atlantic General Hospital’s mission to provide a coordinated care system with access to quality care, personalized service and education to create a healthy community.

There’s never been a better year to support the ones that care,

And have given so selflessly throughout this COVID nightmare.

So we’re asking that you help us celebrate a different way this year.

No need for dresses, suits and ties, as we skip the party, wine and beer.

Instead of everyone getting together, which is always so much fun,

Buy a “ticket” to stay home until the COVID battle is won.

Although we look forward to the future, during this time of caution,

Anyone who gives a gift of $100 or more will receive 24-hour advance VIP access to place their max bids in the online auction. Advance VIP access will begin at 12 a.m. on May 20, 2021. The auction will open to the public at 12 a.m. on May 21, 2021. The auction will end at 11:59 p.m. on May 28, 2021.

Also, anyone who gives a gift of any amount is encouraged to submit an entry for the Virtual Guestbook on the event website. Please send an email to Joy Stokes at jstokes@atlanticgeneral.org with your name, a photo, and a brief message celebrating Atlantic General Hospital by May 21, 2021.
